A sweeping celebration of the Highveld sky, Highveld Cloudscape captures that charged moment when light, weather and landscape seem to move as one.
Sarita Gous builds the sky in layers of deep storm blues, luminous turquoise and soft, fleeting light, allowing the clouds to dominate the canvas with a sense of both drama and wonder. Below, the vast landscape stretches quietly towards the horizon, its stillness beautifully contrasted by the movement gathering overhead.
Tiny birds in the distance emphasise the extraordinary scale of the sky — a familiar and beloved sight for anyone who knows the South African Highveld.
Atmospheric, expansive and wonderfully evocative, this original oil painting brings a sense of open space and the untamed beauty of the South African landscape into the home.
